Maharashtra are not going down without a fight in the Ranji Trophy 2013-14 final against Karnataka at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
On Day Four, they were driven by Kedar Jadhav’s ton and a few cameos. The game may be heading towards a good finale, although Karnataka are in a more comfortable position.
Rohit Motwani and Shrikant Mundhe started the day with positive intent and kept taking the singles and pushing the lead. For almost an hour, there was no boundary. Motwani was dismissed bu Abhimanyu Mithun as he edged and CM Goutham held a brilliant catch to his left.
The boundary drought was broken when Mundhe lofted one over the covers for four. Later, Anupam Sanklecha smashed Vinay Kumar for a six over long-on. The lead has not stretched past 120.
Maharashtra 305 and 339 for 8 (Ankit Bawne 61, Keday Jadhav 112; R Vinay Kumar 4 for 107, Abhimanyu Mithun 2 for 63) lead Karnataka 515 (Robin Uthappa 72, Lokesh Rahul 131, Ganesh Satish 117; Samad Fallah 3 for 93, Shrikant Mundhe 3 for 90, Chirag Khurana 2 for 110) by 129 runs.
