Ranji Trophy 2013-14: Jammu and Kashmir need 247 more runs to win against Punjab

Jammu and Kashmir finished Day Three of their Ranji Trophy 2013-14 quarter-final against Punjab at 77 for two. Punjab were earlier bowled out for 296 and that left Jammu and Kashmir with 324 to win the match. Mandeep Singh led the way for Punjab with 101 and Parvez Rasool was the best wicket-taker with a fifer.
The Jammu and Kashmir seamers were on song as they snared early wickets. Resuming the day on 15 for two, Punjab kept losing wickets and were 50 for five when Yuvraj Singh and Mandeep came together.
They took Punjab past 100 before Yuvraj was dismissed. Gurkeerat Singh and Mandeep then fought and extended Punjab’s lead as they were now past 200 easily.
Gurkeerat was then dismissed by Parvez Rasool for 66. Harbhajan Singh was out first ball by Rasool as well. After tea, it was the Mandeep and Manpreet Gony show as they started hitting the ball across the park. Ultimately, Punjab was dismissed for 296 with Mandeep getting 100.
Later on Bandeep Singh and Adil Rishi were the only batsmen do be dismissed. Hardeep Singh and Ian Dev Singh finished unbeaten at the end of day’s play and need 247 more runs to win.
Punjab 304 and 296 (Yuvraj Singh 40, Mandeep Singh 101, Gurkeerat Singh 66; Parvez Rasool 5 for 58) lead Jammu and Kashmir 221 and 77 for 2 by 246 runs.
