Karnataka have seized control of their Ranji Trophy 2013-14 quarter-final against Uttar Pradesh at M Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore. Chasing 333 to win, Uttar Pradesh are in trouble at 152 for six.
The day started with Uttar Pradesh being 55 for one. The overnight batsmen Tanmay Srivastav and Ali Murtuza started decently well. However, R Vinay Kumar first dismissed Srivastav and then Mohammed Kaif was out for his second duck in the game.
There was a bit of a recovery, but then Murtuza and Prashant Gupta fell in quick succession, before Piyush Chawla helped them move past 150.
The interesting thing is that no team has chased such a high score at Chinnaswamy Stadium to win a Ranji game.
