Bengal have gone into lunch on Day Four in their Ranji Trophy 2013-14 quarter-final against Railways at Kolkata at 255 for seven. With a three-run lead in the first innings, Bengal are 258 ahead.
Ashok Dinda restricted Railways to 314 in the first innings and allowed Bengal to take a slender lead of three runs. But, Bengal lost wickets early and were in an iffy position when Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Wriddhiman Saha joined hands.
Starting the day on 133 for four, Bengal lost Shukla early as he was dismissed for 74. Saha continued to fight, but was bowled for 82. One thought then that it would end Bengal’s challenge as they were 214 for seven. However, Dinda then started hitting and took them into lunch at 255 for eight.
Bengal 317 and 255 for 8 (Wriddhiman Saha 81, Laxmi Ratan Shukla 74) lead Railways 314 by 258 runs.
