Ranji Trophy 2013-14 quarter-finals: Bengal take slender 3-run lead over Railways after first innings

In a very tight contest at Kolkata, Bengal have managed to take a three-run lead against Railways in their Ranji Trophy 2013-14 quarter-final. Bengal had scored 317 and Ashok Dinda’s six-for managed to restrict Railways at 314.
Railways started the day on 233 for five with Mahesh Rawat and Arindam Ghosh in the middle. Rawat was then dismissed for 119, but Ghosh fought with Murali Kartik for company.
However, they kept losing wickets at they came close to the total and as Ghosh was dismissed for 97 with the score on 296 for right, the task got tougher.
Anureet Singh continued to extend Railways challenge and was getting them closer to Bengal’s score, but the last wicket fell with the score on 314.
Bengal 317 lead Railways 314 (Arindam Ghosh 97, Mahesh Rawat 119; Ashok Dinda 6 for 105) by 3 runs.
