Maharashtra are in total control of their Ranji Trophy 2013-14 semi-final against Bengal. They have gone into tea on Day One at 74 for no loss after bowling Bengal out for 114.
Samad Fallah was the star of the Maharashtra bowling as he rattled the Bengal top order early in the morning. They were down to 21 for three when Wriddhiman Saha and Arindam Das commenced a mini recovery, taking Bengal past 50.
However, Saha was dismissed by Harshad Khadiwale for 29 and then, Bengal lost Laxmi Ratan Shukla as Fallah picked up his fourth. They went into lunch at 83 for five.
In the post lunch session, Fallah ran through the rest of the batting line-up with help from the other bowlers who also chipped in.
Maharashtra openers got them off to a good start and took them into tea without any loss.
Bengal 114 (Arindam Das 37, Wriddhiman Saha 29; Samad Fallah 7 for 58) lead Maharashtra 74 for no loss (Chirag Khurana 44*) by 40 runs.
