Maharashtra have taken control of their Ranji Trophy 2013-14 semi-final against Bengal. Starting the day at 16 for one, Bengal lost two wickets during the morning session and have moved to 116 for three.
Earlier in the day, Abhimanyu Easwaran was dismissed by Anupam Sanklecha as he was trapped leg-before for six. That brought Sudip Chatterjee to the centre and he joined the gritty Arindam Das. In tandem, they took Bengal past 50. However, Arindam fell as he tried to pull Sankecha and gave a catch.
Wriddhiman Saha walked in to bat and it was then that Chatterjee took more authority. He took Bengal past 100 and helped them finish the session without further damage.
Bengal 114 and 116 for three (Sudip Chatterjee 44*; 2 for 38) trail Maharashtra 455 by 225 runs.
