Vadodara: Left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem spun a web around Rajasthan batsmen to hand Jharkhand a narrow two-run first innings lead in a Group B Ranji Trophy cricket match on Friday. Nadeem returned with impressive figures of seven for 74 to help Jharkhand the snatch the two-run lead at the Reliance Stadium. Nadeem scythed through the middle-order with his left-arm spin as Rajasthan lost their last seven wickets for 61. At stumps, Jharkhand were 73 for two in 18 overs with Pratyush Singh (33) and Sunny Gupta unbeaten at the crease. Jharkhand lost opener Anand Singh early, but Virat Singh’s 35 and Pratyush 33 not out helped extend the lead to 75, with eight wickets in hand when stumps were drawn. Rajasthan had a good outing on the first day of their Ranji Trophy 2016-17 match against Jharkhand, as they reached 26 for no loss after dismissing their opponents for 209.
