Ranji Trophy 2016-17, Round 3, Day 3 match results and highlights: Saurashtra topple Maharashtra to gain healthy lead
Saurashtra bowlers ran rampant against Maharashtra batsmen to skittle them out for 182 run first innings. Maharashtra in their 2nd innings are 361 runs behind.
Maharashtra started Day Three day of Round 3 of Ranji Trophy 2016-17 on 18 for 0 in their first innings ended the day on 114 for 2 in the second innings. Saurashtra’s bowlers ran past the Maharashtra line up to gain a mammoth 475 first innings lead. Maharashtra the second time around batted with more determination and grit. M Trunkwala remained unbeaten on 58 runs, alongside A R Bawane who is on 9 at stumps with Maharashtra trailing Saurashtra by 361 runs. K D Patel initiated the Marahstra collapse cleaning up Swapnil Gugale for 30. Next to go was C G Khurana who was picked up by D A Jadeja for 17. Patel continued snatched two back-to-back wickets of A R Bawane and N S Shaikh for 13 & 4 respectively.Patel then got the key wicket of Trunkwala who was looking good on 64. Maharashtra were more composed and solid in their second innings. Gugale this time made 18 runs before becoming M Sanandia’s first wicket. Jadeja was soon into the mix picking up Shaikh for 24. Trunkwala again was the pick of the batsman making 119-ball 58.
