Ravichandran Ashwin to be honoured with Arjuna Award

Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin will be honoured with an Arjuna Award this year. Reports suggest the the newly-crowned world No 1 all-rounder will be the recipient of the award given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
According to a tweet by the Indian Express, Ashwin, who is currently in England with the touring Indian Test team, will be rewarded due to his impressive contributions to the game in recent times. Ashwin shares the record of most six-wicket hauls in Tests for India with Indian seamer Ishant Sharma over the last couple of years. The Arjuna Awards are given by the government of India in recognition of excellent performances in National sports.
