Richie Benaud: Sand sculpture made by Indian artist in Puri

Richie Benaud passed away at the age of 84 after long battle with skin cancer.

Sudarshan Patnaik, who is renowned around the world for making beautiful sand sculptures of various things around the world, recently made a sculpture in honour of former Australian captain and commentator Richie Benaud, who passed away a few days back after a long battle with skin cancer. Australia Prime Minister Tony Abbott offered Benaud’s family to have a state funeral as he thought many fans will want to pay their tributes, but his family declined the offer stating that benaud wanted a quiet, private affair.
