In a close encounter between Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, Ajinkya Rahane and Suryakumar Yadav shined for their respective teams in the batting department. Rahane’s 67 off 52 balls went in vain as KKR won the match by 2 wickets with three balls remaining. Earlier, KKR won the toss and invited RPS to bat first. Riding on Rahane’s 67 and Steven Smith’s 31-run knock, RPS posted 160 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Rahane hit four boundaries and three sixes in his innings. For KKR; Shakib Al Hasan, Sunil Narine, Rajagopal Sathish and Umesh Yadav took a wicket each. Gambhir nudged the ball on the on side and ran hard and even dived to complete a double but he was found short off his crease. Suryakumar continued to bat in the same fashion.
