Rohit Sharma’s poor phase does not seem to end. Following his surgery, since the last three months, he has missed out on international cricket and now has been excluded from the Mumbai squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy that is scheduled to take place from February 25. The batsman has failed to recover for the tournament. The squad includes the names of only 14 members, for the 50 over competition, after another senior batsman, Suryakumar Yadav has been issued a showcase notice on Monday, by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) following a retweet on Twitter for questioning his exclusion from the T20 tournament.

However, among those who have found themselves on the luckier side, is Dhawal Kulkarni who has been added back in the team after being absent for a substantial amount of time last since the Ranji Trophy. Also joining the squad, is 17-year-old Prithvi Shaw who slammed an excellent century in the Ranji Trophy semi-final and scored a fine half-century in the final.
