Rohit Sharma scored yet another half-century during the first One-Day International (ODI) between India and South Africa at Green Park, Kanpur, on Sunday to extend his fine form. Rohit had also scored a remarkable century in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) of the series. Rohit’s innings came at a crucial moment for India, who were chasing a big total against South Africa thanks to AB de Villiers’ excellent century led them to 303 for 5. Earlier, de Villiers’ superb unbeaten 104 ensured that the Proteas crossed 300. Ravichandran Ashwin, who was playing his 100th ODI, was unable to bowl his full quota of overs after injuring himself while fielding. South Africa won the toss and batted first.
