Rohit Sharma recorded his third ODI double hundred, playing for India in the second match against Sri Lanka. He was the first player to achieve this feat. Captaining India in absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit led from the front and slammed his 200 in 151 balls, his second hundred coming off a mere 36 balls. This is his second double-ton against Sri Lanka. His innings includes 13 fours and 10 sixes.

Rohit’s highest score of 264 came at Eden Gardens in 2014 against Sri Lanka. His first double century (209) was against Australia in 2012-13. He added 115 with Shikhar Dhawan for the first wicket today, and followed it with a 213-run stand with Shreyas Iyer. Dhawan and Iyer fell for 68 and 88 respectively.

Rohit has now hit most sixes for India in ODIs in a calendar year (41). He also has the most 180+ scores in ODIs, drawing level with Martin Guptill. He remained unbeaten on 208*.
