Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have reached a score of 92 for three after 15 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. RCB are chasing a 116-run target. Parthiv Patel is batting on 40 and AB de Villiers is on 38.
De Villiers drove one from Ojha towards Rohit at short extra-cover. But the ball just fell short of the fielder. The next delivery was slight short and de Villiers pulled it towards mid-wicket for a four. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a back of a length delivery and de Villiers hoicked it away for a six over deep mid-wicket.
Malinga bowled a half-volley and Parthiv chipped it over wide mid-off for a four. The next delivery was a bouncer and Parthiv guided it over the wicketkeeper for a four. Malinga again bowled a short delivery and Parthiv attampted a similar shot. Parthiv misses the ball and Malinga appeals with a doubt. Replays show that there was a fine edge, but Tare did not appeal at all.
Ojha bowled a short delivery towards the leg side and Parthiv hit it towards fine-leg for a four.
Earlier, Bangalore captain Kohli had won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision proved right at the time as Mumbai could only manage to post a low total of 115 for nine in their 20 overs. Ambati Rayudu top-scored for Mumbai with 35 runs off 37 deliveries. The next highest scorer was Corey Anderson with 18 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal, Mitchell Starc and Varun Aaron took two wickets each.
