Tainted Indian cricketer Shanthakumaran Sreesanth is likely to make his debut as an actor in a Bollywood film, after his signing up for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season seven. Sreesanth’s brother Dipusanth was quoted as saying by Times of India that the former cricketer is likely to play the lead role in the movie.
“Yes, Sreesanth will play the lead in the film. It will be a remake of a yesteryear superhit Malayalam film, which was quite controversial at that point of time,” said Dipusanth. Although, the details about the movie and the director was not revealed, Dipusanth added that work on the film will start soon after Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 gets over.
“The film has a familiar subject, and work on it will start as soon as the dance reality show, which he is currently part of, gets over,” he added. Sreesanth is also doing a Tamil movie but his brother said that the former India national will give more preference to Bollywood.
“The rest of the cast hasn’t been decided yet, but the film will have a 2015 release,” said Dipusanth. “Right now, Sreesanth is in a happy phase, doing something he loves best — dancing. He is one of the contestants of the dance reality show — Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Madhuri Dixit praised him recently; she said that she was judging him solely based on what she saw on stage, not on his past, and that she loved his dancing,” he added.
“Whatever he does, he does with passion. Right now, he has completely given himself to dance,” he concluded.
