One of the greatest Indian cricketing legends and a living one of the modern game, Sachin Tendulkar turns 43 as he celebrates his birthday on Sunday. Tendulkar, who has been a pioneer in the field of cricket, has been an immense wealth of cricketing asset to the nation, and is considered as the ‘God of Cricket’ in India. He has inspired many young cricketers not just in India, but also from around the world. He also played an integral part during India’s 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup winning campaign, as India lifted the cup in his hometown, Mumbai. He continues to remain an inspiration, as modern cricketers still pay tribute to him, both on and off field. ALSO READ: Sachin Tendulkar: Acting was more challenging than playing cricket
As recently as in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016, India’s star batsman paid rich tribute to Sachin Tendulkar during their crunch game against Pakistan by scoring a splendid half-century in front of his idol, who was present at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Kohli’s celebration was special — he bowed down with both the hands in the air with one holding the bat to let the Little Master know that he remains a precious person in his life. Tendulkar has been on and off the cricket field, and despite his retirement nothing has stopped him to give back something to the game. He has been associated with the Indian cricket board as its consultant, alongwith former teammates in Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. Their special committee will be crucial in the appointment of India’s next coach, which is expected to be announced in some time.
Tendulkar has also been busy with the Mumbai Indians, with whom he has been associated ever since he was taken by the franchise. Tendulkar is among the many coaches that Mumbai Indians have in their ranks, and he steps in every time a young batsman needs help with his batting during the two lengthy and tough months of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Little Master is also gearing up for the launch of his biopic, named ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’. The teaser of the movie was launched a few days ago, and the entire cricketing fraternity and the world beyond welcomed the short teaser with tremendous enthusiasm and love.
