Sachin Tendulkar congratulates Sania Mirza, Martina Hingis on winning Women’s doubles in US Open 2015

Former India player Sachin Tendulkar took to social media to congratulate Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis on their win in the Women’s Doubles in the US Open 2015. Top seeded pair of Mirza and Hingis eased past fourth seeded Casey Dellacqua and Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3, 6-3 in the final to give the Indo-Swiss pair their second consecutive grand Slam of the year after their triumph at Wimbledon 2015. Hingis recently won the Mixed Doubles Final with another Indian Leander Paes, making it two titles in the Grand Slam. Sachin Tendulkar is an avid fan of tennis and has often been spotted at the Royal Box at the Wimbledon. Even during the Wimbledon 2015, he was spotted along with cricketers like Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly. Tendulkar has scored over 30,000 international runs in a career spanning over 20 years, which include 100 centuries. Tendulkar made his debut in 1989 and played his last match against West Indies in 2013 in his hometown of Mumbai. Tendulkar was also the ambassador for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 and attended the final at the Melbourne Cricket ground (MCG). Tendulkar recently inaugrated one of the practice pitches for the Mumbai Ranji team to practice on.
