Sachin Tendulkar spoke out on his absence from Rajya Sabha and explained that it was his brother’s ill health which kept him away from the parliament. Earlier in the day, there was a huge furor over Tendulkar’s absence from the Upper House.
“My elder brother underwent bypass surgery and I had to be by his side, no disrespect to any institution,” explained Tendulkar.
Mentioning that both Sachin and Rekha have not taken a single MP privilege, Rajeev Shukla had said, “They should attend Parliament more frequently.” “I think Sachin should attend parliament. When he was playing cricket, he never missed a practice, so now that he has retired, so should come,” the BJP’s Kirti Azad was quoted as saying by DNA.
