Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen was on Sunday delighted when Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar allowed him to use his bat. Pietersen will be in the Rest of the World (ROW) team captained by Shane Warne for the match against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord’s on July 5.
Tendulkar will captain the MCC team whereas the Rest of the World XI will be lead by his old rival and legendary leg-spinner. The Lord’s completes 200 years on June 22, 1814 when it hosted the first known match between MCC and Hertfordshire.
The MCC team consists Rahul Dravid, two legends of West Indies, Brian Lara and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Brett Lee and Daniel Vettori. In the ROW team there are the likes of Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan, Adam Gilchrist, Pietersen and others.
