MS Dhoni playing his 500th international match played a vital role in India’s second T20I against England at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. India were 79 for 4 when Dhoni walked in to bat. He then took the score to 148 in 20 overs with his unbeaten innings of 32 off 24 balls. He even ended his innings in style by hitting a boundary. India however lost the match by 5 wickets in a last over thriller.

However, on the occasion of his 37th birthday many cricketing legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag have wished Dhoni on twitter.

India will take on England in the series decider on July 8 at County Ground, Bristol. Ahead of the match Dhoni is approaching two landmarks. He needs 13 runs to complete 1,500 T20I runs. f he reaches there he will be the 3rd Indian (after Kohli, Rohit, and Raina) and 18th overall to the landmark. He is also one catch away of reaching the 50-catch mark as wicketkeeper. Nobody else has even 35. Denesh Ramdin has 34 while Quinton de Kock has 30.
