Chasing 133, Kolkata Knight riders lost the early wicket of Manish Pandey. In three overs, they are 13 for one. Pandey was dismissed by Sandeep Sharma in the third over as he was leg-before to a delivery that came into him. Gautam Gambnhir has come in at No 3 and remember he is on a streak. He started off the tournament with three consecutive ducks. And he very nearly had another duck as an outside edge nearly carried back to Sandeep off Gambhir’s first ball.

Sandeep opened the bowling and started off with a wide. For a major part of the over thereafter, he was very much on line, but once he erred, Pandey smashed a cover drive for four. In the second over, Jacques Kallis essayed a magnificent cover drive off Mitchell Johnson for four. Gambhir and Kallis have to now guide Kolkata through this run-chase.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders had won the toss and elected to bowl. And, their spinners responded in style with Piyush Chawla taking three wickets and Sunil Narine also recording the same number of wickets.
