In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 game played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab, Bangalore found themselves in huge trouble after losing their star players in Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli early on. Parthiv Patel, the wicketkeeper-batsman was the one batsman who looked in decent touch. It has to be said that both Gayle and Kohli have looked out of sorts and them getting out wasn’t a major surprise. However, Kohli perhaps would count himself unlucky as he was caught down the leg-side. Sandeep then got the wicket of Parthiv too to leave Bangalore in tatters. It is up to AB de Villiers to play a magical innings to take them to victory.
For Punjab Sandeep Sharma found movement in the air and off the pitch on most occasions. His partner in crime Mitchell Johnson bowled with good pace. Earlier, Bangalore’s openers, Chris Gayle and Parthiv Patel started rather cautiously before they got out to Sandeep. Sachin Rana though survived the hat-trick ball from Sandeep. The young swing bowler has been impressive as he moved the ball both ways at good pace and also swung it late in the air.
