With their brilliant performance in Women’s World Cup 2017, India Women‘s team shattered many barriers of gender-bias regarding sports in India. Not only cricket-enthusiasts, but the mass became familiar with the names such as Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur as they finished as the runners-up of the tournament. Many celebrities have wished the cricketers more success in near future but Shahrukh Khan has a different dream. He wants to see Mithali, India’s captain, become the head coach of men’s team one day.

Mithali made appearance on Ted Talks, the Hindi version of the popular talk-show which is being hosted by Shahrukh. On the show, Mithali spoke at length about how she handles pressure. “When you are on the field, and everyone is looking up to you and the entire team to bring back the trophy, (then) it is not just about the game. So, it is necessary for us to stay focused… and we all have our own ways to ensure we give our best on the field,” Cricketnext quoted Mithali as saying.

“I read books to get rid of pressure during a match. It does help me to keep calm and encourage a good performance,” she added.

To Shahrukh’s comment on becoming the men’s team coach, Mithali said, “I always want to give my best.”

Mithali Raj’s India, though had defeated England in the group stage, succumbed to the pressure in the final and losing the match, ending as runners up of the tournament.
