Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who was suspended from international cricket earlier this year, picked up a six wicket haul against Zimbabwe during the first Test match at Dhaka. He finished with figures of six for 59, in 24.5 overs. Visitors Zimbabwe were restricted to a measly first innings total of 240.
Shakib was banned after he threatened Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to quit playing international cricket if the board doesn’t issue him an NOC to participate in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). BCB imposed the ban on him due to his ”severe attitude problem”.
“He has a severe attitude problem, which is unprecedented in the history of Bangladesh cricket. We think that his behaviour is such that it’s directly impacting the team.”, said BCB president Nazmul Hassan.
