The much awaited Sachin Tendulkar vs Shane Warne contest won’t happen during the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) against the Rest of the World XI (RoW). This is because Warne has a suspected broken hand and will not be able to take the field. During the RoW innings, Warne faced a beamer first up from Brett Lee. He was able to fend it, but it hit his hand.
Warne thus won’t be able to captain the team and Adam Gilchrist will take charge of proceedings. In his place, Shaun Pollock will play. This whole contest was built up as the Tendulkar-Warne contest and this development would make the fans disappointed.
RoW had won the toss and chosen to bat first. After slipping to 68 for five, Yuvraj Singh’s remarkable 134 took them to 293 for seven.
