Shane Watson on Tuesdayleft the training session in distress after he was hit by a bouncer off Australia pacer James Pattinson, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) ahead of the third Test against India starting on Boxing Day.

The training session was ended abruptly after the blow at the MCG as the Australians looked disturbed after Watson, who fell to his knees after suffering the blow, left the training session, reports Sydney Morning Herald.

While Watson walked out of the nets and sat on the ground for sometime, Pattinson too was left shaken as players and the Australian cricket officials rushed to Watson to check on him. Watson sat outside the nets for sometime with his head in his hands, and several minutes later he left for the dressing room with doctor Peter Brukner.

Watson is not reportedly injured, but he took time to recover after suffering the blow. The incident once again highlighted the fact that Australian cricketers have not yet recovered completely from the tragic incident of Phillip Hughes death in November this year, which left the cricket world in shock.
