Playing his second One-Day International (ODI) for India, Shreyas Iyer recorded his maiden fifty in 50-balls. Iyer, made his ODI debut in the first India versus Sri Lanka match at Dharamsala. Coming into bat at No.3 at Mohali, Iyer has currently added 117 runs with Rohit Sharma for the second wicket.

He is the 219th cricketer to represent India in ODIs. Before this he made his T20I debut for India, in Ashish Nehra’s farewell game at Delhi. Iyer scored 9 runs in his ODI debut, while scoring 21 runs in his T20I debut.

Iyer’s Mumbai teammate Rohit is batting on 108* with India’s scoring nearing the 300-run mark. Iyer would want to make good use of this chance and convert this start into a century.
