Smith, Amla steady South Africa against New Zealand at Lunch on Day One

Hosts South Africa managed to reach 99 for the loss of one wicket at Lunch on Day One of the second Test against New Zealand at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
Doug Bracewell dismissed Alviro Petersen early with South Africa’s score on 29. However skipper Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla managed to stabilize hosts innings. They added an unbeaten stand of 70 runs for the second wicket.
Earlier, South Africa skipper Smith won the toss and elected to bat first against the Kiwis. The Proteas come into the match at the back of the comprehensive victory by an innings and 45 runs against the Kiwis in the first Test.
The hosts have come into the match with just one change. Rory Kliedveldt has replaced the injured Vernon Philander.
