South African pacers Vernon Philander, Ryan McLaren and Lonwabo Tsotsobe dominated Pakistan’s batsmen to bowl them out for a paltry score of 179 in the third One-Day International (ODI) played at SuperSport Park - Centurion. Only Pakistan’s captain Misbah-ul-Haq essayed a fine knock of 79. Umar Amin and Asad Shafiq both made 25 each. Lower down the order Pakistan's left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman gave Misbah some support by scoring 22 runs. Rest of Pakistan’s batsmen failed to impress.

As usual, skipper Misbah walked into the crease in a situation which has become all too familiar with Pakistan. With his typical cool, calm and collected approach he handled South African pacers well.
Earlier in the day, South African skipper AB de Villiers won the toss and elected to field first on a wicket which historically tends to help bowlers first. The decision worked well for South Africa as their seamers struck at regular intervals to leave Pakistan in tatters. Philander was the one who snared the first wicket by dismissing Pakistan’s opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad. Tsotsobe followed him up by taking the wicket of Asad Shafiq.
Pakistan have already clinched the ODI series by winning the first two matches of the series. The second match of the ODI series played at Port Elizabeth ended in a pulsating finish with Pakistan winning by a solitary run.
Brief scores:
Pakistan 179 in 46.5 overs (Misbah-ul-Haq 79*; Vernon Philander 3 for 26, Ryan McLaren 2 for 28) vs South Africa.
