After losing the Test and One-Day International (ODI) series 0-3 and 0-5 respectively, Sri Lanka are set to take on India in a solitary Twenty20 International (T20I) on Wednesday. The Sri Lanka selectors have included leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay and all-around Dasun Shanaka for the last and final match of India’s tour of Sri Lanka. Apart from Vandersay and Shanaka, Isuru Udana and Vikum Sanjaya to find places in the 15-member squad that will be captained by Upul Tharanga.

Vandersay last played for Sri Lanka in the ICC World T20 competition in India last year. He has 6 ODI wickets from 7 matches and 4 T20I wickets from 7 matches, while Udana has 9 scalps from 8 T20 internationals. Sanjaya has only 5 wickets to himself from as many games. Niroshan Dickwella, Angelo Mathews, Lasith Malinga and Suranga Lakmal’s experience make up for a young and novice squad.

Notable misses are Dinesh Chandimal, Asela Gunaratne, Danushka Gunathilaka and Lahiru Thirimanne who all featured in the ODI series.
