Sri Lanka extend lead to 231 runs against Bangladesh in 1st Test

Sri Lanka, replying to Bangladesh‘s first innings total of 232, were at 463 for five at lunch on the third day of the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.

 

Mahela Jayawardene was unbeaten on 83 and captain Angelo Mathews was on 46 as the tourists increased their lead to 231 runs with five wickets in hand.

 

The day started with Sri Lanka at 375 for five. Jayawardene and Mathews went unbeaten till the lunch session. Jayawardene is nearing his 33rd Test century and Mathews is closing in on his 14th half-century.
