Sri Lankan openers Upul Tharanga and Kaushal Silva have begun solidly on Day One of the second Test against Pakistan at Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) on Friday. The openers have put on 54 in 20 overs.

There was a brief halt in play after the 20 overs when an Ajmal delivery took an awkward bounce and hit keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed on the left ear.

As far as the Lankan batting is concerned, they are having a good time going for their shots. The spinners did slow down the flow of runs but the pitch has nothing much in it to worry the batsmen. The pacers didn’t get any kind of purchase which led to the spinners being brought onearly.
