In the latest ICC Test Rankings for batsmen, Steven Smith has managed to draw level with Len Hutton (945). Smith now has 945 career rating points, after scoring his second double-hundred at Perth last week. Only Sir Don Bradman is ahead of Smith, with 961 career rating points in all-time Test rankings for batsmen.

Jack Hobbs (942), Ricky Ponting (942), Peter May (941) and Clyde Walcott (938) complete the illustrative top five.  As fas as Indians are concerned Sunil Gavaskar tops with 913 points, Sachin Tendulkar comes second with 898, with Kohli following suit.

It must be noted that Smith’s current batting average of 62.32 is second only to Bradman (99.94) in terms of batsmen with at least 20 Test innings.

In Smith’s comparison Kohli is currently on 893, Kane Williamson on 855 and Joe Root on 852. Current rankings for Test batsmen has Smith at No.1, followed by Kohli (2) and Cheteshwar Pujara (3). Williamson (4) and Root (5) completed a magnificent top five. Root dropped from No.3 to No. 5 after failing at Perth.
