Sunrisers Hyderabad reeling at 99/7 after 15 overs against Kings XI Punjab in Match 9 of IPL 2014

22 Apr, 2014

Sunrisers Hyderabad were surrendering tamely at the hands of Kings XI Punjab with the score at 99 for seven. Akshar Patel, buoyed by taking the wicket of Irfan Pathan, who was clean bowled earlier was hammered by Darren Sammy, who struck the biggest six of the tournament with a monstrous hit over long on that might have dented a car or two in the parking lot of Sharjah in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014.

Sensing danger, George Bailey sent in the man of the moment Laxmipathy Balaji into the attack and he was rewarded with a wicket straight-away with Sammy smacking a delivery straight to mid-off and Akshar got his revenge by jumping up and pouching a well-taken catch. Sammy was out for 15. Rahul tried clearing the infield and was caught by David Miller and that might signalled the end of Sunrisers’ chase.
