Thisara Perera smashes two consecutive boundaries to finish the formalities and take Sunrisers Hyderabad to an eight-wicket win.
Shikhar Dhawan is awarded the Man-of-the-Match award for his brilliant innings of 71, which included 11 boundaries. He becomes the second winning capatin on Tuesday, after Brendon McCullum, to win the player of the match award.

Sunrisers Hyderabad need six runs to win in 12 balls.
Against the run of play, Sunrisers Hyderabad lose skipper Shikhar Dhawan in the first delivery of the 17th over, allowing Kandurata Maroons to get a hold in the match. However, all their renewed energy levels are again dropped as Thisara Perera whacks his first ball for a six.
Sunrisers Hyderabad need 20 runs to win in 18 balls.
Nuwan Kulasekara is brought back into the attack and he soon induces an outside edge off Shikhar Dhawan’s bat which falls short of Kumar Sangakkara.
Sunrisers Hyderabad need 33 runs to win in 24 balls.
Depite Parthiv Patel’s dismissal, Shikhar Dhawan continues to entertain with his elegant batting. Dhawan smashes two boundaries through the off-side, making his intentions clear of finishing off the game early.
The energy levels on the field has dropped.
It is a day when nothing can go wrong for Shikhar Dhawan. Trying to hit Jayasuriya out of the park, he is dropped at long-off.
However, Parthiv Patel is caught at long-on by Jayaratne after top edging a slog.
The openers minimised the risks as they were content with singles. However, Dhawan resorted to playing a reverse-sweep for boundary off the fifth ball of the over.
Sunrisers Hyderabad continue to score easily as skipper Skipper Dhawan brings up his half-century with a dive towards long-on. In the very next delivery, his opening partner Parthiv Patel too brings up his fifty.
Kandurata Maroons persist with Shehan Jayasuriya. The move doesn’t work as Parthiv Patel pulls him for a huge six.
During the course of the over, Sunrisers Hyderabad brought up their highest first-wicket partnership as also the team’s 100.

Parthiv Patel is toying with the Kandurata Maroon bowlers. After two singles off the first two deliveries, he smacks boundaries of consecutive balls.
After a poor start, Ajanth Mendis comes back well to just give away four runs off his second over. Sunrisers Hyderabad openers look comfortable at the crease.
Shehan Jayasuriya is brought back into the attack. However, unlike his first over, his second over started off with two consecutive boundaries. He comes back well to give away just four more runs off the remaining over
Sunrisers Hyderabad seem to be doing no wrong. Even edges are failing to hit the stumps and Dhawan is comfortable charging down the track. Both the batsmen are showing a confident body language.
Kandurata Maroon’s trump card Ajantha Mendis was introduced in the last over of the powerplay. However, Shikhar Dhawan made a mockery of the mystery spinner’s bowling. After failing to capitalise on a poor delivery in the first ball of the over, he hit three consecutive boundaries in the over. One was a pull on the leg followed by a gracious drive on the off-side and another pull on the leg.
Shikhar Dhawan continues to bat with immense ease and score at a brisk pace. His opening partner Parthiv Patel too looks comfortable against the Kandurata bowling attack.
Shikhar Dhawan finally gets into the act with a pull off the backfoot which goes for a boundary. He follows it up with a signature flick on the leg-side for another boundary.
There is very little margin for the Kandurata bowlers to err with Dhawan.

A swift piece of work by Kumar Sangakkara nearly finds Dhawan short of his crease.
With all eyes on Dhawan, Parthiv Patel manages to steal a bit of limelight with his early hitting.
Lahiru Jayaratne is brought in to bowl the second over of the innings. However, the start isn’t good with a poor delivery wide outside the off. Sunrisers Hyderabad get their innings moving with a boundary off the second ball of the over.
Parthiv Patel charges down the track to hit the last delivery of the over for a boundary.
Kandurata Maroons, in a surprising move, open the bowling with Shehan Jayasuriya. Although he isn’t turn the ball, he is doing enough to trouble the batsmen with a tight line.
Thisara Perera is chosen to bowl the final over despite having the services of Amit Mishra, who has been in good form. Perera’s first delivery is sent out of the park by Lokuhettige.
However, he comes back well to restrict Kandurata Maroons to 168 for three at the end of the 20th over.
Dale Steyn bowls his best over of the innings, giving away just five runs. It has been an unusually poor day for Steyn in the business. During the course of the over, he also hurts his fingers after being hit by Dilhara’s Lokuhettige’s straight smack.
He ends with figures of 4-0-35-0.
Shikhar Dhawan opts to bowl Thisara Perera ahead of Amit Mishra. The move backfires as he is hit for three boundaries off the first four deliveries.
A brilliant effort by JP Duminy on the long-on boundary saves a definite four for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the fifth ball of the over. Meanwhile, Kumar Sangakkara brings up his half-century.
Dale Steyn finds his rythym back in the second spell. Even as the Kandurata batsmen look to attack, they manage to score just six runs from Steyn’s first five deliveries before guiding his last delivery towards the third-man boundary.
It has been a bad outing for the fast bowler.
Ishant Sharma’s second spell doesn’t get off to the best possible start as Thirimanne cuts a delivery outside off for a boundary. The Kandurata skipper brings up his fifty off the next delivery with a comfortable single.
To add to Ishant Sharma’s woes, a mistimed pull by Thirimanne falls away from the man stationed at mid-on and goes for a boundary. However, Sharma comes back to to uproot the Kandurata skipper’s stumps.
Amit Mishra, Indian Premier League’s (IPL) leading wicket-taker, is finally brought into the attack. Sangakkara plays a beautiful sweep off the third delivery for a boundary.
During the course of the over, Kandurata Maroons bring up their highest partnership for any wicket in T20 cricket.
With five overs to go, Kandurata Maroons are well-placed for a late flourish.
Thisara’s poor bowling isn’t helping Sunrisers Hyderabad’s cause. Sangakkara pulls a short-pitched delivery for a boundary and follows it up with a classical flick for a single.
Sangakkara and Thirimanne have set a good platform for the big-hitters to come to the party.
Thirimanne takes advantage of a poor short-pitched delivery by JP Duminy to hit it for a boundary on the leg. Duminy bowls another delivery of similar length to Sangakkara, but is lucky to not be punished.
Thirimanne takes on Thisara Perera as soon as he is brought into bowl. The Kandurata skipper dances down the track to hit Perera out of the park.
Thirimanne makes his intentions clear as he goes for a slash on the off-side which is well fielded.
During the course of the over, Thirimanne and Sangakkara bring up their 50-run partnership.
The contest betwen the bat and the ball becomes interesting as both the batsmen and Darren Sammy play clever cricket. Although Sammy is hammered for two boundaries in the over, he comes back to bowl a nippy delivery that finds Thirimanne unaware. However, the Kandurata skipper is not given out.
With the need to up the tempo, skipper Lahiru Thirimanne advances down the track and hits JP Duminy out of the park.
With nine runs off the 10th over, the innings hangs in balance .
With the run-rate hovering around run-a-ball, Kumar Sangakkara attempts a slog, but top-edges it. Luckily for him, it lands safely. He follows it up with a smack through the covers, which is brilliantly stopped.
Shikhar Dhawan introduces part-timer JP Duminy into the attack. Kandurata batsmen avoid taking any risks as they manage to score just five runs off the over.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have took a hold on the innings after getting off to a poor start. Following Tharanga’s dismissal, Kandurata’s scoring rate has dropped drastically.
Kandurata batsmen are still failing to adjust with the bounce and movement in the pitch. Ishant Sharma, meanwhile is making merry bowling good lenght deliveries with good variations in line.
A good save on the boundary by Ashish Reddy saves three runs for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Opener Shehan Jayasuriya finally gets off the mark in the fifth over with a boundary on the square, before getting dismissed off the last delivery of the over.
Darren Sammy’s first over produces eight runs and a wicket.
Ishant Sharma troubles Upul Tharanga with the bounce before inducing an edge off the third delivery to dismiss him.
While Steyn has been straying all over the pitch, Ishant Sharma has been impressive. He gives away just one even in his second over.
Dale Steyn’s misery continues in the second over as Tharanga hits him for two consecutive boundaries. An unusual start for the pacer, by his standards. However, he returns to bowl three consecutive dot deliveries and ended by giving a single off the last ball.

Dhawan removes a slip for Ishant Sharma after Sunrisers get off to a poor start. In a moment of madness, Jayasuriya backs to far as Tharanga defends Sharma’s delivery to square mid-on. But is lucky to survive as an attempt at the stumps doesn’t hit.
Sharma continues to trouble the batsmen with excellent variation in length. He gives away just one run in the over.
