Supreme Court observers NM Kasliwal and SP Pathak are likely to declare the results of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) elections on Monday.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had moved to Supreme Court against Lalit Modi’s participation and it is likely that the court might give fresh dates for elections before announcing the results.

“Though the counting was done on the election day itself, it’s still not clear whether the court would declare its verdict on Monday. The case will be argued and then only the picture would be clear,” a RCA source was quoted as saying by Times of India.

BCCI had moved to the apex court challenging the Rajasthan Sports Act of 2005 which allowed Modi to contest the polls.

“It’s up to the court to decide on whether they would hear BCCI’s cause,” the source said.

SC judge Kasliwal and retired Rajasthan High Court judge Pathak were appointed observers based on Kishore Rungta‘s plea.

Ram Pal Sharma stood against Modi’s rival for the president’s post.
