Supreme Court observation on N Srinivasan: Sanjay Patel likely to meet BCCI president

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Sanjay Patel is likely to meet troubled president N Srinivasan on Wednesday, over the issue of the latter’s resignation from the post following Supreme Court’s observation.
Patel, who was in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to oversee the arrangements for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), has cut short his visit and is expected to meet Srinivasan during the day to decide the future course of action, PTI reported.

Meanwhile, there have been contradictory reports of Srinivasan’s possible action after the Supreme Court asked him to step down as BCCI president to ensure fair probe in the IPL 2013 spot-fixing and betting scandal.
While a report said that Srinivasan continues to remain defiant over the issue and has said that he will not resign, another report said that he remains mum over the issue.
The apex court will hear the matter on Thursday, March 27.
