Suranga Lakmal reached another landmark of his career, completing 100 Test wickets as Sri Lanka played Bangladesh on Day One of the second Test at Dhaka. Lakmal thus became the seventh Sri Lanka bowler to have 100 or more wickets in Tests. Lakmal is only behind Muttiah Muralitharan, Rangana Herath, Chaminda Vaas and Dilruwan Perera and at par with Lasith Malinga (with 101 wickets) in the list of all-time highest wicket-takers for Sri Lanka in Tests.

After Abdur Razzak and Taijul Islam ripped apart Sri Lankan batting, Lakmal struck early to get the better of Tamim Iqbal. Tamim went for a drive but only managed an edge to give a catch back to Lakmal and departed for 4. Lakmal later got Mushfiqur Rahman bowled for a solitary run that reduced Bangladesh to 12 for 3.

The first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ended in a draw, with batsmen from both sides piling on a lot of runs on a flat Chittagong track. The two teams will play two T20Is following the two Tests.
