Suranga Lakmal will miss the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Test series due to an ankle injury. Lakmal sustained the injury during the second Test against South Africa.
“Either [Shaminda] Eranga or Suranga has been injured since the Bangladesh series [in February], so we haven’t had both of them together… which would have been a very formidable attack. But I still have a good [pace] attack in Dhammika Prasad and Nuwan Pradeep. They’ve bowled pretty well in the recent past and the two spinners, Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera, have been bowling magnificently. I feel that I’ve got the bowling attack to take 20 wickets.”, Angelo Mathews said in a press conference.
Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in a two match Test series, with the first Test scheduled to start on Aug 6. They will also play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against the host nation.
