In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 match, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were closing in on a comfortable win against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), with Dwayne Smith and Suresh Raina toying with the opposition bowling. Raina was dismissed by Ishant Sharma after playing a wonderful cameo.
Suresh Raina came to the crease after Brendon McCullum’s wicket and wasted no time in getting off the blocks. Dwayne Smith, on the other hand reached his fifty and was looking impregnable in the middle. Raina smashed a huge six of Ishant Sharma and nudged the ball cheekily to the fine leg boundary and it brought MS Dhoni in the centre. Smith though wasn’t finished and walloped another magnificent six over long on and Chennai needed only 22 of the last five overs.
Earlier, Dhawan had won the toss and chosen to bat first on the Sharjah wicket that is known to be conducive for batting. Hyderabad made one change to their line-up, in view of strengthening their bowling attack. Ishant Sharma came in to replace Naman Ojha. Aaron Finch scored 44 and then later some late surge helped Hyderabad score 145.
