After a blazing start by Suresh Raina in the early overs despite Mitchell Johnson dismissing Faf du Plessis in the overs, the Australian was brought on to get another strike but Raina showed is class there. Johnson erred in line miserably and was cut to ribbons by the relentless hitting of Raina. There were two big sixes on the leg side a short ball didn’t get sufficient bounce and was taken tot the boundary ropes.
There was more damage in the next over of Sandeep Sharma with a flick on the leg side and a huge six over covers on the off-side to bring up his half-century of just 16 balls.
Virender Sehwag‘s vintage hundreds made a comeback in the most stunning fashion to take Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to a humungous score of 226 for six after MS Dhoni decided to continue to play to Chennai Super Kings‘ (CSK) strengths by electing to field first. All of Chennai’s bowlers were taken apart in a knock that had the Sehwag rubber-stamp on it during his knock of 122 from 57 balls. There were good supporting cameos by Manan Vohra at the top and David Miller played a blinder towards the end.
