India batsman and Gujarat Lions‘ skipper Suresh Raina has recently opined that bowler Jasprit Bumrah was always one who looked to be ‘Team India Material’. Bumrah currently plays for Mumbai Indians (MI) in Indian Premier League (IPL) and ever since his national team debut, he has been exceptional with the ball. The bowler who made news pretty early in his career is a favorite of Raina among the youngsters currently in the business. The batsman also named Krunal Pandya, who plays for the same franchise as Bumrah, among the promising young players. When asked about the young players who have caught his eyes, Raina told to Cricbuzz, Raina said, “Shreyas Iyer is one (of the youngsters he likes). Jasprit Bumrah was always Team India material. Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav are a few others.”
Talking about the league, he said, “IPL helps a lot. It teaches a lot—way of living, way of training, how to look after your body, what to eat, when to sleep. It even teaches man-management skills.”
“You can even learn that from people like Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta—how they go about their glamorous life, how they act with their fans. Man-management and time management skills must be learnt before coming to the IPL. The tournament is all about that— how to remain fresh and motivated before a game,” he concluded.
