Haryana defeated Gujarat by six wickets in a Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy tie on Wednesday.

Electing to bat first, Gujarat made a competitive 146, losing 7 wickets but failed to defend the total as Haryana chased down the target while losing four wickets off 19.3 overs.

For Haryana, Joginder Sharma and Ashish Hooda grabbed two wickets each.

Chasing the target of 147, Avi Barot (56) and Rahul Deewan (36) gave Haryana a perfect headstart, adding 94 runs for the opening wicket off just 11.2 overs before Barot got out. Nitin Saini, who remained unbeaten at 27, guided his side to victory with three balls to spare.

For Gujarat, Jesal Karia took three wickets, giving away 30 runs.
