Australia are just a victory away from regaining the urn in the ongoing 2017-18 Ashes. Winning the Adelaide Test by 120 runs, they are in no mood to lose the momentum. Few hours after the victory, they announced the 13-man squad for the third Test against England, at Perth, from December 14. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been included in the side, replacing pacer Chadd Sayers. Marsh’s inclusion may ease the workload of the pace trio — Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood — if Australia find a spot for him the XI.

Marsh last represented Australia in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2016-17 at Bengaluru. He was in a woeful form back then, and a shoulder injury added to his miseries. He, however, seems to have improved his game. In the Sheffield Shield season, Marsh has amassed 402 runs and picked up two wickets.

Earlier in the day, Australia wrapped proceedings in Adelaide Oval, crushing England by 120 runs. In pursuit of 354, England resumed the final day at 176 for 4. Joe Root had to stick around and play with the tail, but his dismissal resulted in a tame surrender post bowlers’ hard work on Tuesday. Starc ended with a five-for and Hazlewood got the better of Root.
