With just hours to go for the Ranji Trophy 2017-18 semi-finals, Vidarbha received worrying news about Umesh Yadav. Virdarbha go up against Karnataka in Eden Gardens in a bid to make it to their maiden Ranji Trophy final. Yadav did not arrive in Kolkata for Vidarbha’s training session on Saturday.
Yadav is currently in Bangalore, undergoing rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy. Speaking to PTI, Chandrakant Pandit said: “Please speak to the Board (on Yadav’s availability). We are not allowed to speak as there has been a strict guideline from our association.”
Eden Gardens is likely to sport a green-top that reminisces much like the first Test between Sri Lanka and India last moment.
The second semi-final will take place at Pune between Bengal and Delhi. For Bengal, Wriddhiman Saha and Mohammed Shami will take field, while Delhi will miss out on services of Ishant Sharma. Rishabh Pant will lead Delhi in his absence.
