Union Budget 2014 Live: Jammu and Kashmir, North-East India to receive huge boost

The #acchedin tag was put to test today as the Narendra Modi led, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government announced the Union Budget of the year 2014. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced the sports budget a while ago which definitely looks promising.
He has allotted funds for building a National Sports Academy. He has also mentioned that the state of Jammu and Kashmir does not have adequate sports facilities and therefore a sum of 200 crore will be set aside in order to upgrade indoor and outdoor stadiums to international standards. “The government will set up National Sports Academy for different sports in different parts of India,” he said while presenting the national budget in the Lok Sabha.
He has also proposed to build a Sports University in Manipur and have also allotted a sum of 100 crore for the same. Countries like Nepal and Bhutan to be invited to participate in the Sports University games as this would yield good international relations. Jaitley has also allotted 100 crore for the upcoming Asian and Commonwealth games and has promised to build stadiums of international levels, reported IANS.
