VIDEO: David Warner hits helicopter shot against RCB in IPL 2016

Warner was the man of the match in SRH's win against RCB at home on Saturday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David Warner played the classic helicopter shot, against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), in Match 27 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday. The helicopter shot, which is known to be the trademark shot of India’s limited-overs and Rising Puner Supergiants (RPS) skipper MS Dhoni, is one of the rare shots in cricket, as Warner hit the shot off fast bowler Kane Richardson. Live Cricket Scorecard: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, IPL 2016 Match 27 at Hyderabad

Warner’s 92 off 50 balls helped SRH to post a competitive total of 194 in 20 overs. Kane Williamson who finally returned from injury scored an excellent half-century, thereby provided the required support to his skipper from the other end. Following their dismissals, it was Warner’s countryman, Moises Henriques who took charge of the innings. His quick 31 off 14 ensured SRH post that big total, which was certainly required against a batting line-up consisting of the likes of dangerous hitters Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Shane Watson and many others.

In reply to SRH’s innings, RCB fell short of 15 runs and that showed they did miss their go to man, Chris Gayle on the top. While KL Rahul was there for a while, scored a fifty before getting dismissed, it was an off day for skipper Kohli. He could contribute only 14 off 17 and that made all the difference there. Absence of Gayle, Kohli and Watson’s failure became one of the major reasons behind RCB’s loss. De Villiers did give a little hope until he was at the crease and was judging the ball well. He was u fortunately out for 47 off 32 and from there the game was more or less in SRH’s bag.
