Glenn Maxwell and Sachin Tendulkar share an excellent relationship since their days in Mumbai Indians (MI). Maxwell, the Australian hard hitting all-rounder went out of the way to respect Indian cricket legend Tendulkar after the end of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 final at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The incident took place after Australia won the cup for the fifth time and Maxwell was being interviewed by Simon Doull at the ground. Maxwell left the ongoing live interview mid-way to meet Tendulkar who was going past him at that moment. Both hugged each other, Tendulkar congratulated him for becoming one the members of a World Cup winning team. Australia beat New Zealand by seven wickets and became World Champion in cricket for the fifth time. Tendulkar himself achieved this feat when India won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Maxwell made his debut in the cash-rich T20 league in its fifth edition in 2012 for the Delhi Daredevils (DD) franchise, playing two games for them. He went on to play for MI in the following year, playing alongside skipper Tendulkar. The hard-hitting Victorian batsman was then sold to the Preity Zinta-owned Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the following year for a price of Rs. 6 crore, for whom he has played ever since.
